Description
White-lined Sphinx Moth. The rapid wing movement and hovering flight of this large moth is similar to that of a hummingbird – thus it is often called a hummingbird moth. It is a mostly nocturnal creature that is noticed when feeding at dusk and dawn. (Dyck Arboretum, Hesston, KS)
This creature was very much aware of my presence and always had the pupil of its eye on me no matter which way it was facing. Even, now, with its back to me it turned its head slightly and is watching my camera carefully.
