As the sunset on an enormous storm system passing over the Midwest it created a fire-like glow on the clouds. This was the eye of the storm. Hard rain, small hail and gusty winds had been pounding my car only a few minutes earlier, but now everything was eerily calm. After taking this picture I drove my car toward where the brighter light was and found myself sitting inside an awe inspiring sight. I was completely surrounded by a giant ring of storm clouds but when I looked straight up there was nothing but clear, pale blue sky. The sight was so enormous that I was unable to capture a picture of it, but this picture of the edge was just as breath-taking. It was a moment I do not think I will ever forget; possibly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me.
